What is MarkdownEditor?
ScreenDesigners would like to welcome you to MarkdownEditor. Markdown is a lightweight markup language used to add formatting to plain text documents. Created in 2004 by John Gruber, its primary goal is to enable people to write using an easy-to-read, easy-to-write plain text format that can be converted to structurally valid HTML and other formats. Markdown allows you to create formatted text (like headings, lists, links and images) using a simple syntax that is unobtrusive and remains highly readable even in its raw, unrendered form.
Before you start typing, use the shortcut Alt+F (Pause Preview) to make the editor ready for input. You can also do this without pressing Alt+F, but it will be slower because synchronization is active. You can show/hide the Clipboard Viewer to the right of the editor. When the Clipboard Viewer is active, the contents of the clipboard are saved to the clipbrd.txt file and are available again the next time the program is started.
As you may have already noticed, Markdown Editor uses its own variation of markdown as its underlying document syntax. It is an extended and slightly revised version of John Gruber's Markdown syntax. Before using the program, please check the settings in Options.ini and review the documentation and included sample documents to understand the syntax recognized by the parser and to be able to apply it in your own manuscripts.
