What is Macfax?

Macfax issues tamper-proof verification reports for Macs. Runs locally on the seller's Mac; the report URL is hosted at macfax.com and signed by a key held in the Mac's Secure Enclave.

A report covers identity, authenticity, spec match, hardware health, and the device-binding fingerprint that lets a buyer re-verify the same machine later. The free Basic tier produces the identity / authenticity / spec-match report. The $49 Premium upgrade adds sustained CPU/GPU burn-in, a memory test, photo set, PDF export, and the buyer re-verification fingerprint.

Works on macOS 14+ on Apple Silicon (M1 or later).
