What is LunarClip?

LunarClip turns long videos into captioned short-form clips on your own Windows PC. Paste a public YouTube link or choose a video file; transcription, face-tracked reframing to 9:16, 4:5, 1:1 or 16:9, captions and rendering run locally, and your video is never uploaded. To pick the strongest moments, the app sends short transcript excerpts of candidate clips to the LunarClip server.

Pick a video type (Auto, Normal, Sports, Podcast or Game) or let the app decide. Clips can be edited before rendering: boundaries, captions, framing, cover frame and on-screen text. Captions in 46 languages.

Free plan: 5 source videos per month with up to 5 clips each, sources up to 2 hours and 1 GB, 720p output, watermarked exports. Supporter ($5/month) and Pro ($10/month) raise the limits: up to 8-hour sources, 1080p, up to 4K on Pro when the source is 4K, no watermark, and YouTube publishing on Pro. Sign-in is through Patreon; a free account does not need a paid membership.

Runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). On Linux it can be used in a Windows virtual machine or tried with Wine (not officially supported). A Mac version is coming later.
