What is Lumideo?

Lumideo lets you record a video and lock it until a future date. Unlike letter-to-your-future-self services, which deliver text by email, Lumideo delivers your face and your voice as they were on the day you recorded.

Once a capsule is sealed, nobody can open it before its date, not even you. The date is checked on our servers, so changing the clock on your phone doesn't open anything. Videos are encrypted in transit and at rest and stored in the cloud, so they survive changing phones or switching between iPhone and Android.

You can send capsules to other people. They don't need the app: they get an email when you send it, and on the day it opens they get a link and watch the video in their browser.

You can also start from the website: record a one-minute video for your future self at lumideo.app, no install needed. The app adds longer videos, sending to others and groups.

Reminders arrive one month, one week and one day before a capsule opens, and on iPhone a home screen widget counts down to the next one. Available in English, Italian, Spanish, French and Portuguese.

Free: 30 new capsules a month, videos up to 2 minutes, opening dates up to 2 years ahead. Premium: up to 75 capsules a month, videos up to 10 minutes and dates up to 20 years ahead.
