What is Lovecast?
Lovecast is a free wedding livestreaming service that allows you to stream your wedding to unlimited online guests who can join by an event link you share. You can capture the video using their mobile app or with custom equipment using RTMP. Guests who follow your link are able to watch on mobile devices, laptops, or can even cast to their TVs, and they are able to talk with each other and celebrate the wedding via the integrated chat.
The service aims to be a better fit for weddings than services like Zoom, which generally have inferior video quality, awkward guest interactivity, and risk of painful situations like guests unmuting themselves at crucial moments. It also has nice features like automatic saving of the recording (both locally and on the cloud) and a virtual guestbook for saving the memories and well-wishes of attendees.
Lovecast was especially useful during COVID-19 lockdowns as there were generally tight restrictions on meeting physically, but proves useful for weddings of all sizes since it's invariably the case that some guests are unable to attend a wedding for whatever reason.
