I haven't set up many situations yet but once you've got them set up it's easy to just set and forget. It's great. This is where you start to notice the gap between Android and iPhone, because an app like this wouldn't work on a non-jailbroken iPhone.
By FAR the most expensive tool of this type. $9.99? There are others, like Chronos, that do all the same things, or more, for as little as $0.99 for the full version.
I use Locale for basic stuff, such as keeping my WiFi off except when I'm at home or work, switching my phone to silent while I'm at work but whacking the volume up to full when I'm at the supermarket or at home - unless it's after midnight but before 8am, when my phone is again set to silent. Simple things that save me time and hassle.
