ListenIn is a menu-bar dictation app for macOS. Hold a trigger key, speak, and cleaned-up text is inserted at your cursor in any app — Claude Code, Cursor, Terminal, Mail, Slack.
Speech recognition is handled by Apple's speech engine, so audio never reaches a ListenIn server. Only the recognized text goes to the cleanup step, and you can point that at your own API key or at a local Ollama model instead, which keeps everything on the machine.
It is built for people who mix Chinese and English in one sentence: English technical terms stay in English inside Chinese sentences rather than being translated or transliterated. A dedicated key turns spoken rambling into a structured prompt — goal, numbered steps, constraints — for AI coding agents. Correct a misheard word once and it enters your personal dictionary, with an offer to fix the remaining occurrences in the same field.
Free tier: 8,000 AI-cleaned words per week, renewing weekly, with no account and no email required. Pro: $12/month, $96/year, or $149 once. Requires macOS 14 or later; universal build for Apple Silicon and Intel, signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
