Linux Download Manager (LDM) is a free and open source download manager for Linux. It has a nice and user friendly interface. Linux Download Manger now under continuous development and improvment.
The program is no longer updated. Last version, 6.1.1, released on July 24th, 2014, can be still downloaded from SourceForge.

What is Linux Download Manager?

Resume Support LDM supports resuming downlaods, so you can pause your download and even shutdown your computer and resume it at later time.

High Speed LDM is very fast at downloading files from the internet. LDM is based on aria2 and from here comes its power.

Multiple Connections LDM supports up to 16 parallel connections per each file to the server from which you are downloading. It can be set globally or per download while adding the download.

Frindly GUI LDM has a simple GUI and easy to use, so the user gets rid of all complicated commands in the terminal and can save a lot of time.

YouTube Grabber (coming soon!) Now you can download a YouTube video with prefered quality and file format. You can also download a full playlist from YouTube

File Sharing (coming soon!) Is Linux cumbersome at sharing files over LAN? LDM will offer the solution with easy to use file sharing feature, so you can share files and folders easly and with simple clicks, no special configurations that require good knowledge in Linux, just choose the file/folder and it is already shared. Yeah that simple.
