LaTeXML is described as 'In brief, latexml is a program, written in Perl, that attempts to faithfully mimic TeX’s behaviour, but produces XML instead of dvi. The document model of the target XML makes explicit the model implied by LaTeX' and is a Code Editor in the development category. There are four alternatives to LaTeXML for Windows, Linux and Mac. The best LaTeXML alternative is Cassiopeia, which is free. Other great apps like LaTeXML are TtM, latex2html and TeX4ht.

TtM translates from Plain TeX and LaTeX into HTML including the equations in the form of embedded MathML.
latex2html is a convertor written in Perl that converts LATEX documents to HTML. This way e.g. scientific papers - primarily typeset for printing - can be put on the Web for online viewing.
TeX4ht is a system for converting documents written in TeX/LaTeX/ConTeXt/etc. to HTML, various XML flavors, braille, etc., optionally using MathML.
