What is kobimusic?

kobimusic is a sheet music scanner that runs in the browser. Upload a PDF or photos of sheet music, and it is read into a score you can play back, turn into MIDI, or download as MusicXML. The MusicXML opens in MuseScore, Dorico, Sibelius or Finale.

It is made for scans, including old editions from the 1800s and 1900s that other scanners fall apart on. The model that reads them is copista. It reads the notes, rests and parts, the key and time signatures, and the title and lyrics. On real string quartet scans it is about 6x more accurate than the next best released model, at 1/30 the size. The weights are public on Hugging Face.

It is free to try. Everything is saved in your workspace, where you can make scans and MIDI files into sheet music and chain the steps into automations.
