What is KingoRoot?
KingoRoot is a software that enables Android rooting for all devices and versions. It is available in PC and APK versions, both of which have high success rates. The PC version provides a one-click rooting method, while the APK version allows quick, convenient rooting without a PC connection.
The software also includes Kingo SuperUser, a tool for managing root permissions and removing apps. It offers settings like root removal and language switch.
Kingo Android Root has a simple user interface with a single button for rooting. It prepares the device for rooting, ensures data safety, and checks device readiness. It is free to download.
Introduced in 2013, it is popular among Android users but has faced allegations of data collection.

Comments and Reviews
Not saying CNET can be trusted implicitly (their download.com software service is riddled with adware, and their recommendations no longer appear to be independent): https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-easily-root-an-android-device/
But ... neither can WOT, if PC Mag is to be believed: http://www.pcmag.com/news/349328/web-of-trust-browser-extension-cannot-be-trusted
TechRadar also refers to Kingo Root, so that's two thumbs up from news media, and one thumbs down from WOT, a service that allows downvotes not just on facts but opinion. Your call!

Says "free" on the site. But upon installing and running the "one click root". It brings up a screen asking for $10 USD and your email for an "appointment" for a "professional" to root your device. But their website never even mentions any paid services nor does the tutorial section actually show any such "appointment" screen.
Clicking the "X" to close that screen exits the whole app. Do not trust them, it is a scam.
