I wished I would have started with Kilo Code instead of Windsurf. It's such a cool platform and toolset for trying out LLMs. One place and you get API access to pretty much every major model out there all at the prices you'd pay for making and setting up all the accounts on the providers themselves.
And you're not just limited to their offerings either, unlike Windsurf and others that locks you into their ecosystem through subscriptions if you don't want to use Kilocode's cool API system then...

Kilo Code information
What is Kilo Code?
Kilo Code is an all-in-one, open source tool built on a solid foundation. And also actively contributes to all its up-stream packages.
Automatic failure recovery Nothing is more frustrating than telling an AI about the error it created. Kilo automatically detects the errors, runs test suites and recovers on failure.
Hallucination-free code Tired of AI tools hallucinating library APIs that don't exist? Kilo looks up library documentation automatically to make sure it's following the best practices, using Context7.
Context is king Kilo searches for the right context automatically. Any context you add is bonus, not required. Kickstart debugging Have Kilo's 'debug' mode go through your codebase with a fine-toothed comb to find where a bug is coming from. No longer is it your job to do the most boring thing in programming. Memory bank Stop re-explaining your application to the AI, have AI keep its own records of what it worked on, your preferences and more.
Open Source Fully open, no lock-in, no training on your data. And use local or free models, or any API provider (with your own API key). Join our community on Discord and Github and help shape Kilo's future.

I wished I would have started with Kilo Code instead of Windsurf. It's such a cool platform and toolset for trying out LLMs. One place and you get API access to pretty much every major model out there all at the prices you'd pay for making and setting up all the accounts on the providers themselves.
And you're not just limited to their offerings either, unlike Windsurf and others that locks you into their ecosystem through subscriptions if you don't want to use Kilocode's cool API system then just setup your other providers they offer a lot out of the box and are always adding more. For example you can setup Gemini CLI or Qwen Code to get access to their free tiers while getting to work in Kilo Codes interface and with all their added features like options for code indexing, MPC server market place and ...etc. If you're bringing your own API key from someplace like Groq, Google...etc. You don't evne need a Kilo Code account to use Kilo Code.
Thus far in my AI/LLM journey Kilo Code and Cherry Studio AI are my two best finds. Kilo Code for all things coding, and Cherry Studio AI for all things Chat.
