What is Karl?

Karl records your meetings and turns them into a transcript and a summary without the audio leaving your device. There is no account to make, and nothing is sent to the developer or to any AI service.

On the Mac it records the call's sound as well as your microphone, so the other people in a Zoom, Teams or Meet call are transcribed without a bot joining. It works offline once each language's speech model is downloaded, and it handles English, Spanish, French, German and more. Summaries are written on the device with Apple Intelligence, in the meeting's language. You can also import audio files and transcribe them.

Recording and transcription are free, with no time limit. Karl Pro (1.99 USD a month, 14.99 USD a year or 24.99 USD once) adds iCloud sync between iPhone and Mac, speaker labels, folders, questions answered from your meetings and a weekly digest.

I make it on my own, as an independent developer.
