A clean Android setup with the best apps (mostly open source)

Everytime I setup a phone for a friend or myself I usually remove stock apps using adb or UniversalAndroidDebloaterNextGeneration and replace them with theses apps listed here. I added also a couple of nice to have apps that people might wants on their device. Almost all of them are free as in free beer and many are open source (around 80%) I tried to feature more applications and less services but there are several services still in this list, however I find them great and/or accessible (freemium most of the time). FOSS = Free(as in freedom) and Open Source Software

What if you wan't to support Europe and be private, than you're at the right place! These are all FREE apps based in EUROPE. What my list makes different from all the other is that I focus on privacy for us users, I avoid the use of AI and most of the apps are open-source which means they can prove that they aren't spying on you. What is Just (Video) Player?

Android video player based on ExoPlayer library. It uses ExoPlayer's ffmpeg extension with all its audio formats enabled (it can handle even special formats like AC3, EAC3, DTS, DTS HD, TrueHD etc.).

It properly synces audio with video track when using Bluetooth earphones/speaker.

Supported formats

  • Audio: Vorbis, Opus, FLAC, ALAC, PCM/WAVE (µ-law, A-law), MP1, MP2, MP3, AMR (NB, WB), AAC (LC, ELD, HE; xHE on Android 9+), AC-3, E-AC-3, DTS, DTS-HD, TrueHD
  • Video: H.263, H.264 AVC (Baseline Profile; Main Profile on Android 6+), H.265 HEVC, MPEG-4 SP, VP8, VP9, AV1
  • Containers: MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, Ogg, MPEG-TS, MPEG-PS, FLV
  • Subtitles: SRT, SSA, ASS, TTML, VTT

HDR and HDR10+ video playback on compatible/supported hardware.
