javafoil Alternatives

javafoil is described as 'JavaFoil is a new implementation of my previous CalcFoil program. Like SimProp, CalcFoil was written solely for my web pages using the "C" language' and is an app. There are four alternatives to javafoil for Windows and Linux. The best javafoil alternative is XFOIL, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like javafoil are xflr5, QBlade and Profili 2.

    XFOIL is an interactive program for the design and analysis of subsonic isolated airfoils. Given the coordinates specifying the shape of a 2D airfoil, Reynolds and Mach numbers, XFOIL can calculate the pressure distribution on the airfoil and hence lift and drag characteristics.
