What is Jackett?

Jackett works as a proxy server: it translates queries from apps Sonarr icon Sonarr Radarr icon Radarr SickChill icon SickChill CouchPotato icon CouchPotato DuckieTV icon DuckieTV etc) into tracker-site-specific http queries, parses the html response, then sends results back to the requesting software. This allows for getting recent uploads (like RSS) and performing searches. Jackett is a single repository of maintained indexer scraping & translation logic - removing the burden from other apps.

Developer note: The software implements the Torznab (with nZEDb icon nZEDb category numbering) and TorrentPotato APIs.

When Sonarr gets the episode naming wrong, which is often, Jackett is there for a good manual search. Also private sites or english categories can be configured in Jackett and used in Sonarr. They complement eachother.

Jackett platform details

Mac

Linux and macOS using Mono 4.6.0 and above. Earlier versions of mono may work but some trackers may fail to negotiate SSL correctly, and others may cause Jackett to crash when used.
