What is interviewr-ai?

interviewr-ai listens to your system audio, transcribes it live with whisper.cpp on your GPU, and when you press a hotkey it answers the latest question using your CV, the job description and the conversation so far.

It runs locally by default. Speech to text happens on your machine and answers come from a local model through Ollama, so your audio and documents stay on your computer. Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini and Groq can be used instead with your own API key.

A setup wizard detects your GPU and picks speech and language models that fit your VRAM, and you can download, switch and delete Ollama models from inside the app. You can capture all system audio or isolate a single application. The overlay has global hotkeys, can stay on top on KDE and X11, and can hide from screen shares on KDE Plasma 6.6+. Every conversation is saved to a local history you can export as Markdown.

Free and open source under AGPL 3.0. Ships as a .deb for Ubuntu 24.04 and newer, with a source install for other distributions.
