What is Infinite?

nfinite is a free workstation for making music and visuals together, live. You build by patching nodes on a canvas. Sound, image and 3D geometry sit in the same graph, so one idea can drive both what you hear and what you see.

What you can do

Patch anything to anything. Combine synths, note and audio nodes, image sources, effects, colour tools and 3D geometry in one patch. Modulate every control. Drive knobs with LFOs, envelopes, random, patterns, macros, MIDI CC or audio analysis, so visuals can react to sound and the other way round. Write your own with Field. Field is a small built-in language for shaders, geometry and sound. You write the rule for one element and it runs across pixels, vertices or samples. Perform live. Use the timeline and arrangement, macros and a performance matrix, and send output to a projector window, Syphon or Spout. Export. Render video with the audio in sync. Learn as you go. Node help is built in, and the project ships a Node Reference Manual and a Field Language Manual.

Who it's for: VJs, live-visual and audiovisual artists, generative and creative coders, and musicians who want their visuals to follow their sound.

Price and platforms: Free to download and use. Runs on macOS, Windows and Linux.
