What is Hover?
Hover makes domain name management simple. Our goal is to make every function here as intuitive and simple as it can be. We study the apps and sites we love and try to apply the best of it here. Fewer clicks. Smarter ways to pack and unpack information. We have tried to bring the same simplicity to everything you do at Hover, whether you’re searching for a domain name, forwarding an email address, changing your password or renewing your services. One reason other domain name services make it so difficult for you to do the things you want to do (register and forward a domain, for example) is that they really want you to do more expensive things. So they litter your path with aggressive and confusing sales pitches.

Comments and Reviews
Opinion as Novice: If you are an experienced website builder, Hover seems like a great domain registar. This site is well-structured, pleasant, and the service is fast. They offer free domain name privacy. However, they do not host. It's been said that it can be good to have your registrar separate from your host. Hosts can cancel accounts causing difficulty with the domain registry. For a novice, at this point I recommend going w/a package deal from another company that includes a free domain name, hosting, etc. I decided to start my own first domain (vs subdomains which can be gotten for free) and the registrar setup with Hover was easy and pleasant for the most part, though after billing I saw the renewal price markup. Ok.. learning experience, it's not like I have to renew with Hover.. some people do take issues with their renewal prices. Then, I set up CloudFlare as a NameServer and Host, and that's where my confusions set in. If I had chosen a free year's package plan including domain name, hosting, etc to begin with, I'm betting I would have less confusion vs setting up with CloudFlare after.
While I love Hover, I don't see dynamic DNS as one of their features.
They have Name Servers. They don't support DDNS. They do not offer Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) that can be gotten for free on Cloudflare. I made Hover my registrar and was able to point the Name Server to Cloudflare.
