What is HOTS Hosts?

HOTS Hosts is a free, open-source Windows app for viewing and managing the system hosts file, built with Fluent Design (dark/light theme).

CORE: real-time table view, live search, bulk paste, toggle entries without deleting, auto-backup before every save, diff preview, import/export .txt and .csv.

DIAGNOSTICS: domain existence check via public DNS, plus a heuristic malware scanner covering redirected system/payment domains, blocked update/AV domains, homoglyphs, punycode, and typosquatting.

PARENTAL CONTROL: blocklists for 15 categories (adult content, dating, random video chat, social apps, games, torrents...), one-click Cloudflare Family DNS enforcement, hosts file lock, application blocking, VPN client blocking, and DNS-over-HTTPS blocking in browsers.

PRIVACY: 37 Windows telemetry tweaks across 4 tiers (Basic/Medium/Advanced/Privacy+), plus a known-telemetry-domains blocklist, drift detection, System Restore integration, and a custom domain blocklist.

Also: 4 accent colors, 5 languages (EN/PL/FR/DE/ES), password-protected uninstall, auto-repair.

Released free under GPLv3.
