What is Homescribe?

Homescribe runs on your own computer or home server. You record a voice note in the browser, upload an audio or video file, or paste a link, and get a transcript with clickable timestamps, a short summary and a list of action items.

Speech recognition (faster-whisper) and summaries (a local LLM through Ollama) run locally, so nothing leaves the machine unless you choose a cloud API yourself. On an NVIDIA GPU a 22-minute recording is transcribed in about 40 seconds; it also works on a CPU.
