HobbyTub

HobbyTub is a browser-based application for creating, editing and stitching counted cross-stitch charts. It converts photos into patterns with thread colours, symbols, stitch counts and finished dimensions, with an option to remove backgrounds. Charts can be edited stitch by stitch, including backstitch, French knots, beads and text. It opens PCStitch (.pat), Pattern Maker (.xsd), OXS and PDF charts, and exports PDF or OXS files.

The stitching view marks completed stitches on created or imported charts, including PDFs. It tracks backstitch and partial stitches, syncs progress between devices, and retains offline changes until a connection is restored. Projects include a journal and completion estimates based on recorded stitching rate.

HobbyTub includes palettes and codes for 14 thread brands, including DMC, Anchor and Madeira, plus a stash tracker that compares pattern requirements with available supplies. It also creates editable charts from written descriptions using AI and supports designer names and copyright notices on exported chart covers.
