HiText is a transcription app that turns audio and video into text you can read, search and share.
Record in the app, import an audio or video file (MP3, M4A, WAV, MP4, MOV and more, up to 2 GB), share a WhatsApp voice note to HiText from the share menu, or paste a YouTube link. HiText writes out the full transcript in minutes. It understands 13 audio languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French and German, and can detect the language automatically.
Then it does the work that comes after the recording: an AI summary with the key points as a clean bulleted list, a translation of the transcript into any of 15 languages, and, for lectures and podcasts, a quiz and flashcards to study from. Transcripts are kept in folders and can be copied or shared in one tap.
People use it for meetings and interviews, for long voice notes they would rather read than listen to, and for classes, podcasts and videos.
HiText runs on iPhone, iPad and Android, and in the browser. On the web there is also a Business plan for professionals who record interviews and in-person meetings: transcripts with speaker labels, turned into minutes from templates.
It's free to start with free transcription minutes; a Pro subscription removes the limit and can be cancelled at any time.
HiText has a 4.6-star rating on the App Store from nearly 500 ratings and is made by an independent developer in Spain.
