After trying many staticgen including all the most famous ones, Hexo is the one I adopted.

  • Many themes & plugins
  • Easily extendable
  • No design flaw like on jekyll
  • Very powerful and advanced but easy to manage unlike staticgen that are more JS front dev framework
  • A lot of handful helpers, support many templates
  • Well maintained

I tried a lot of CMS, blog engine and StaticSiteGenerator (SSG) and I choose Hexo because it permit me to works offline and see the result, aka like most of SSG, offer a admin, also accessible offline, able to generate a service worker (PWA) via plugin and I don't have to battle with it every times I have to reinstall it or update nodejs.
