Heron Alternatives
Heron is described as 'Apache Heron (Incubating) is a realtime, distributed, fault-tolerant stream processing engine from Twitter'. There are four alternatives to Heron for Linux, Mac, Windows and BSD. The best alternative is Apache Spark, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like Heron are Apache Flink (Free, Open Source), Apache Storm (Free, Open Source) and Gearpump (Free, Open Source).
- Apache Spark™ is a fast and general engine for large-scale data processing.
- Free • Open Source
- Mac
- Windows
- Linux
- Flink’s core is a streaming dataflow engine that provides data distribution, communication, and fault tolerance for distributed computations over data streams.
- Free • Open Source
- Mac
- Windows
- Linux
- BSD
No screenshots yet - Apache Storm is a free and open source distributed realtime computation system. Storm makes it easy to reliably process unbounded streams of data, doing for realtime processing what Hadoop did for batch processing. No screenshots yet
- Apache Gearpump is a real-time big data streaming engine. The name Gearpump is a reference to the engineering term “gear pump” which is a super simple pump that consists of only two gears, but is very powerful at streaming water.
