Herae

Herae is a Chrome extension built for long-distance couples who want movie night to feel like the same couch. One of you presses play and the film starts on both screens at the same moment; play, pause and skip stay in sync for both of you.

What makes Herae different:

• Works on almost any site: Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, YouTube and smaller streaming sites. Herae syncs the video player on the page rather than relying on a fixed list of supported services, and it runs inside every frame of the page, so players nested inside embeds and iframes sync too.
• No screen sharing: each of you plays the film from your own account at full quality, so protected services don't turn into a black screen the way they do over Discord or a video-call screen share.
• A video and voice call sits in a small window beside the film (peer-to-peer), plus a live chat over the page.
• AI Moments: Herae notices the reactions you both had while you watched, on your own computer (no video or image is sent away for analysis), and offers them at the end of the night to keep, along with a photo-booth strip of the two of you.
• A shared timeline of your nights, moments and reviews, and a way to plan your next movie night with calendar invites for both of you.
• Your partner can join from your invite link without creating an account.

Pricing: the free plan includes your first two movie nights in full, then 4 hours of synced watching a month, with voice, video and chat included. Herae Plus ($8.99/month) removes the limit for one account; Herae Together ($12.99/month) covers you and your partner.

Good to know: Herae runs in Google Chrome on desktop and laptop computers (Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS), not on phones or TVs. Each of you needs your own access to the streaming service; Herae doesn't provide, host or stream any video.
