Helpful – Your AI Companion for Better Browsing
We built Helpful because we were overwhelmed with information, and not finding the information we wanted. There’s more content than ever: news articles, research papers, newsletters, blogs, and it’s impossible to keep up. We found ourselves constantly opening new tabs with the best intentions, only to forget why we saved them in the first place.
So we asked: What if it felt like a conversation, an adventure or a bit more like the old internet, where curiosity led the way and you could actually find what you were looking for?
That’s when Helpful was created.
Helpful is a Chrome extension, with other browsers in the future, that adds an AI companion to your browsing experience. It sits quietly by your side while you read, ready to summarize articles, explain complex ideas, answer your specific questions, or just help you stay focused. It’s like having a study buddy, research assistant, and curiosity co-pilot right in your browser.
No switching tabs. No copy-pasting into ChatGPT. Just you, the page, and a little AI help.
We built Helpful for knowledge workers, lifelong learners, students, and anyone who wants to read more deeply and retain more of what they learn. And we made it dead simple to use: install it in Chrome, and it’s there when you need it. Nothing more, nothing less.
We’re still a small team, but we care deeply about improving how people read, think, and explore online. Helpful is just the beginning. We’re working on features to let you save your highlights, build collections of insights, and integrate with mobile.
