What is Dissent?
Dissent, previously gtkcord4, is an independent Discord client for Linux desktop users, built with GTK4 and libadwaita libraries. It offers a lightweight and visually appealing interface mirroring Discord's functionality. Dissent focuses on essential features for a simplified Discord experience, including text chat with full Markdown and custom emoji support, guild folders, channel categories, and a tabbed chat interface. It also has a quick switcher for channels and servers, image and file upload support, previews, downloads, and custom CSS theming. While it partially supports threads/forums, message reactions, and AI summaries, it doesn't support voice chat and other advanced features.
