What is GridPin?

GridPin is an open-source offline geocoder for street addresses. Each country is one file you download once; the engine opens it and answers forward and reverse queries on your own machine, so addresses never leave it and there is no rate limit or per-request bill. A row the file cannot place comes back empty rather than guessed.

Use it from Python (pip install gridpin), the command line, DuckDB (a community extension) or AI agents (an MCP server). Country files are built from Overture Maps and national address registries; the list of countries is on https://gridpin.dev.
