What is Google Calendar?
Google Calendar is a tool that helps organize events in one place. Users can create events, send invitations, and share their schedules. It also has a search feature for finding new events. The app offers features like easy event creation, managing multiple calendars, customizable views, and integration of widgets and tasks. It syncs across devices like iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and computers when the user is logged into their Google account. Users can merge and view Google Calendar events with other calendars like Exchange and iCloud. They can also share their calendars, allowing others to view, add, or change events. The interface allows quick switching between month, week, and day views. Tasks can be created and managed, and the calendar can be personalized with light or dark mode or color-coded events. It also provides updates through Apple Watch.
As part of Google Workspace, Google Calendar connects with all Google tools. It allows adding a Google Meet video call to a calendar event, scheduling meetings by checking teammate availability, and adding working locations to the calendar. Documents like meeting notes and pre-read materials can be attached to calendar events. Google Calendar comes with Google's enterprise-level privacy, user safety, and data security.

Google Calendar only displays notifications when it is open in your web browser. Regretfully, I did not have it open, so I just missed a meeting.

Firefox will not load Google Calendar this morning. I did not experience this issue before today. I tried reloading the webpage, restarting the browser, disabling uBlock Origin, and restarting the computer. Safari will load Google Calendar though.
you can use g.calendar. over thunderbird. It will show notf. but it doesnt support tasks only for events
@calender Thank you for the tip about Thunderbird. Can you recommend a calendar service with a native app?

A complete and free calendar application. It integrates with several other platforms.
As much as I dislike the Google ecosystem, it remains one of the most popular scheduling tools - especially when collaborating with others. I always prefer to have my to-do list and calendar be one & the same, but Google's to-do app is atrocious. At least TickTick is able to integrate with Google Calendar.
Being based on the web, it’s super useful across all Operating Systems.
It’s easy to use, setup, and is very straight forward. If all you need is a calendar program that you can sync with all your devices natively so that you receive alerts and notifications without any unnecessary setup, this is the program for you.
its better to be a reference for your scheduling point because of its weak interface and widget...
Google Calendar is easy to use and features plenty of options for integrating with other calendar and scheduling tools. Its ubiquity makes it easy to use as a reference point for scheduling, and it works as a common tool to introduce new computer and smartphone users into the world of online event scheduling.
