You can only email other Ghostmail users, nothing outgoing at the moment. NOTE: I stand corrected: you can send emails to people outside ghostmail but you can't save their contact details, so either you reply to their email or type their address manually. They plan adding functionality for adding external recipients.
You can receive fine e-mails, i.e. registrations, newsletters, etc.
Neutral opinion so far: it should still support regular emails sending for the sake of communicating with people that are not on ghostmail, just like what Tutanota and Protonmail do.
Only enterprises get accounts from now on.
My 2 main criteria's for an online encryption system was that it had to be non-US based and that my communication should be end-to-end encrypted. What I also found with GhostMail was that their platform was developed in such a way that even they had no way of unscrambling my data. The only catch to this was if I ever lost my password I would also loose access to the data in my account, I guess a fair enough trade-off for the privacy they provide with this architecture.
