What is Apache Geronimo?
A Java EE 5-certified application server for web and enterprise applications based on Suns Java EE platform specification. The goal of the Geronimo project is to produce a server runtime framework that pulls together the best Open Source alternatives to create runtimes that meet the needs of developers and system administrators.




Comments and Reviews
I carry two Java EE 5 application servers with me on a USB stick. One of them is Geronimo, the other is JOnAS. Both are easily rendered as "portable" apps (JOnAS being a bit harder to set up safely). Both are well-documented. Both are remarkably stable. JOnAS looks nicer and has better facilities for virtual hosts. Geronimo is easier to install and has wider support.
