What is Freesign?

Freesign is a free electronic signature service that lets you sign PDF documents directly in your browser. No software to install, no subscription, no credit card required — you get 3 free signatures every month.

Every signed document receives a PAdES B-B digital countersignature from the server, cryptographically sealing its contents. The signature is verifiable by Adobe Acrobat and by anyone using the public Verify page at freesign.ink/verify.

Freesign is ESIGN Act compliant — before signing, you're presented with an electronic disclosure and must affirmatively consent. Your name, email address, IP address, and consent timestamp are embedded in the cryptographic signature and logged in a tamper-evident audit trail.

Signing runs in your browser using pdf-lib. The finished signed PDF is then countersigned on the server and stored for 30 days, after which it is automatically deleted.

Credit packs are available for users who need more than the free monthly allowance. Credits never expire and there are no recurring charges.
