You can't register a domain or login to the website anymore.

Out of the domain name business now. "On February 2024, Freenom, the registry for .tk, .ml, .ga, .cf, and .gq domains issued a press release that they had resolved the facing lawsuits and would be exiting the domain name business. Since mid-January 2023, all Freenom-based registries' domains are down and not available: "application for new registrations is temporarily out-of-order," says the website, and according to our sources, several of the existing domains have ceased operation due to DNS resolution issues. —from: https://www.getfreedomain.name

Takeaways: There are no Free Domain Name Registrars anymore at this time. (though you can go w/free hosting plans including free domains for a year with some companies) If you only need a SubDomain, InfinityFree is an excellent site.

After entering the name and clicking Check Availability, nothing happens. It seems the project is dead.

If you buy a domain it will show it costs 4,69€ but they charge you 9,38€ and you HAVE to pay it. Not good if you want to buy domains.

Thats unfortunate, I heard through the grapevine that a few years ago, the site came under fire for "looking the other way" and ignoring large scale bot farms abusing the api en mass to artificially create relevance through facebook backlinks. The service was supposedly abandoned, and many theorize that someone who realized the domain was soon to expire, they saved all the frontend code and purchased the domain as soon as it expired. So its possible it offers no service, but due to the popularity over the years, manages to siphon ad revenue, email addresses and the occasional debit card payment.

Tends to not be the most reliable when it comes to registering a free domain, but, nonetheless, it still works. If anyone here is considering I 100& recommend you try it

Embarrassing garbage """"""""""domain provider"""""""""" hosted by someone who legally should be banned from the Internet forever. It's actually insane how bad this is. When you can't even log in to your website, why should you rely on them for ANYTHING? It's absolutely useless and deserves no praise.

Works pretty good, but constantly has problems with login and there is no reliable way to contact them. Annoying when they suspend your domain for no reason and you can't do anything about it.
