FRCTL

FRCTL is a browser-first VJ studio for creating and performing live, audio-reactive visuals, with a desktop app for shows. It's built for VJs, DJs and visual artists who want visuals that move with the music, without patching a node graph.

Effects stack in a single reorderable chain: glitch, mirrors, tunnels, fluid, halftone, feedback, particles, reaction-diffusion and more. Everything runs in real time on video, images, a live camera or generated art. When there's no footage, 21 generative shader worlds (raymarched portals, fractals, kaleidoscopes, plasma) create visuals from nothing. Shader Lab is a built-in GLSL editor with live knobs, with the clock and audio spectrum already wired in.

Anything can react to the music. LFOs, envelopes, sample and hold, and ten audio bands route to any parameter. Audio can come from a clip, an uploaded track, a browser tab, system audio or a mic, with beat detection and a correctable beat grid.

For live sets there are two decks with a crossfader and keyer, a clip bank that launches on the bar, MIDI learn, tap tempo, MIDI clock and OSC sync, and output to a second screen or projector. The Windows build publishes over Spout and NDI, so FRCTL shows up in Resolume as a named source.

Sessions record to MP4 for cover art, Spotify Canvas and social clips. Looks save as presets that artists can sell on the Collective, FRCTL's built-in marketplace.

The free plan includes the full studio and live mode with no watermark, at up to 1080p. Paid plans add commercial use, marketplace selling, 60fps, 4K and Spout/NDI.
