Just posting this note for others, like me, who can't differentiate between comments in the Comments section and comments in the Reviews section, here on AlternativeTo :-)
Like the developer mentioned in a comment in the Reviews section, Folders Popup has changed name and is now called Quick Access Popup:

I just started using it and so far it feels good other than being slow at accessing the network to add shared folders. Overall though I can get around that by copying the paths I want to add so this is not a major issue. Looking at the site I can see a well supported application and look forward to getting to know it better. So far it is looking like one of the best file extenders for Windows. My previous favorite was Filebox Extender until I started having random issues with it not working. This looks to be my long term replacement.
Thank you LelandWhitlock for your good words. Looking forward for the next generation of Folders Popup, under the new name Quick Access Popup (www.quickaccesspopup.com).
