What is Folder Size (by Brio)?
Folder Size for Windows adds a new column to the Details view in Windows Explorer. The new column shows not only the size of files, but also the size of folders. It keeps track of which folders you view, and scans them in the background so you can see complete size of all files within the folder. Its very useful for cleaning up your disk. Once you get used to having that information available, a directory listing simply looks incomplete without it!
Folder Size for Windows runs on Windows 2000 and XP, though has been tested almost exclusively on Windows XP. Sorry, not Vista.

Comments and Reviews
For Win-2k/XP only Adds an additional field to WinExp (Win-2k/XP)
Does not work in Win-Vista/7/8/10 ... declared by the developer ... Folder sizes are not accurate In Win-7 appends a side panel to WinExp ... a space hog and according to the developer, sizes are inaccurate. Last update was v2.6 in 2013

Folder Size 2.6 is the latest version and was added in February 2013. It can be downloaded free from http://sourceforge.net/projects/foldersize/ and is, in my opinion, the BEST choice to view the size of each Folder and number of files / sub-folders it contains, directly in Windows Explorer, in real-time. I couldn't do without it.
Here is another alternative utility Directory Report http://www.file-utilities.com Looks just like MS-Explorer but always shows the folder's size Can save reports to text, CSV, XML and HTML
