What is Focuslist.io?

Welcome to FocusList! Thank you for checking out FocusList, here you'll find useful information about the idea and motivation behind it! First things first, what on Earth is it? You can think of FocusList as a very simplistic todo app. It is intended to be used by a single person and help them keep track of what's next. It has a very basic notion of workstreams, or projects, which can hold only one task - the one you need to do next. Is that it? Yes and no. FocusList has two modes of operation. In one of them - conveniently named All you will be able to see all the workstreams you have in one simple list. The other one, called Focus Mode shows you the task which FocusList thinks is most important. Don't be fooled, there's no magic here - it simply picks up the oldest one. You can skip a task and it will not recommend it for another day. But why, oh why, is this useful? There are multiple todo apps out there. This one is different in several ways:

It is absolutely, 100%, offline - this means your data is yours to keep. Everything is stored in your browser. Needless to say - change browser, lose everything. It's simple - compared to todoist, trello and any other apps for high functioning individuals, this doesn't pressure you with labels, deadlines and fluff. Focus on what's important - you instantly know what you need to do. It's simple, no decision making is needed before you start. Compare that to the list of 38 items you have on todoist. Grooming is easy - you must absolutely dread having to context switch all the time. FocusList makes it easy to never lose track - once you complete a task it asks you what's next. You must know - you just worked on it!

This sounds awesome, how can I start using it? Sweet! Make a workstream and you're in. No login or credit card required - remember it's all local.
