What is FnKey?
FnKey is a tiny Rust menu bar app for macOS. Hold the Fn key, speak, release — your speech is transcribed and pasted into the focused app. The microphone is only active while you hold the key, confirmed by macOS's yellow mic indicator.
Audio streams to Deepgram Nova-3 over WebSocket in real time, so transcription is ready the instant you release. Falls back to Groq Whisper in batch mode if no Deepgram key is configured. Supports custom keywords for domain-specific terms.
