It was an engine too powerful to be understood. And with great power, powerful damage could be done. Too sad it was proprietary, too sad people based their anger on avoidable advertisement and phishing. Epic games were created with ActionScript, from the wackiest to the most polished out there... weightening few KB and running on potato computers. The golden age of web games is dead.

Well, isn't this awkward and inconvenient? What alternatives are there? I also heard that there is malware out there that looks to be legit Flash Player.

What is Adobe Flash Player?

Adobe Flash Player (labeled Shockwave Flash in Internet Explorer and Firefox) was a freeware software for using content created on the Adobe Flash platform, including viewing multimedia, executing rich Internet applications, and streaming video and audio. Flash Player could be run from a web browser as a browser plug-in or on supported mobile devices. Flash Player was created by Macromedia and has been developed and distributed by Adobe Systems since Adobe acquired Macromedia. On December 30, 2020, support for Flash was removed by Adobe.
