What is Duplicate Commander?

Duplicate Commander is a free application designed to allow you to find and manage duplicate files on your computer. Duplicate Commander aims to be fast and easy to use. Version 3.0 sports a brand new interface, new search engine, and over 40 bug fixes. It has been reviewed on sites such as Lifehacker, CNET, and Freewaregenius.com, and has been downloaded by tens of thousands worldwide.

Duplicate Commander includes features not found in shareware programs, such as the ability to check duplicates in the list that match a regular expression, or being able to undo certain actions later. Duplicates can be replaced with NTFS "hard links," which are files that simply point to a single copy of the file. Soft links are also supported on Windows Vista and later. Duplicate Commander also has a full screen viewing mode, making it easier to use on netbooks and PCs with smaller screens.
