What is DugoutIQ?

Dugout IQ is a free web-based lineup management app built specifically for youth baseball and softball coaches. It solves the one problem no other coaching app addresses: "Who plays where, and is it fair?" Before every game, the rotation engine automatically generates defensive lineups based on player ratings, position preferences, and season bench history. A bench fairness algorithm ensures no kid rides the pine all game — lower-rated players sit first, but bench time is distributed equitably across the entire season. Coaches can set competitive or development mode per inning, and manually override any assignment with a tap. At-bat tracking works in two modes: Simple (K, Hit, Walk, Out) for quick logging, or Advanced (1B, 2B, 3B, HR, BB, HBP, SAC) with tap-to-place spray charts showing where each ball was hit. OBP and rolling batting averages update in real time and drive the auto-generated batting order. Printable dugout cards give you a one-page game sheet with batting order on one side and defensive assignments on the other. Late-inning pocket cards offer two options: LFG (win mode) puts your strongest lineup on the field, while OOR (shuffle mode) rests your starters and gives developing players premium positions. The parent portal is a shareable link with a 4-digit PIN. Parents see their child's OBP, batting trends, positions played, and hot streaks — no app download, no login, no account required. Live scorer links let anyone in the stands log at-bats from their phone without signing up. Every committed game is saved with full position history, so you can show exactly how many innings each player spent at each position across the entire season. Dugout IQ works on any device — phone, tablet, or laptop — with no app download required. Just open lineupman.com and start coaching.
