What is DropBeam?
DropBeam runs a small private server on your Mac. Click Start Receiving and it shows a QR code; scanning it with any phone (Android or iPhone) opens an upload page in the phone's browser. Selected files transfer directly over the local network and land in a folder you choose, at original quality. There is nothing to install on the phone, no account, no cloud relay, and no file size limit. The free version has unlimited transfers. A one-time Pro purchase adds rename on save, HEIC to JPEG conversion, duplicate skipping, GPS removal, setting file dates to the date taken, and sending files from the Mac back to the phone.
