Droidcam used to be a good app for using your phone (or an old phone) as webcam, but recent shitification made it a worse product. After working well for short time, it force you to give creditcard info, before you can use it again.

It is lighter than other similar apps like IVCam. In the WiFi connection it may have latency issues, but in the direct connection via USB cable it works wonderfully, and the only app I have tried that has this feature. I wish the authors would revert to supporting older android versions again.
Using iPhone as a webcam on Linux
Not sure why it doesn't allow me to stream at full resolution. My camera/phone and system can handle it, so what's the issue?
It's an excellent App. A feature to have HD video or even 4K will make it an absolute champion. A detailed review is at reddit.com/r/Android and tech.haritux.in
Decent, but I often see latency issues (at least on the free version) which can be disconcerting when the audio and video don't sync up.
