What is DOT Audio Recorder?

DOT Audio Recorder keeps whatever your Mac is playing. Press Cmd-R while anything plays (a YouTube video, Apple Music, a preset demo, a session) and DOT records it, trims it at both ends and files the clip in a library.

If the clip is music, DOT shows its key and tempo, and a chord for every half bar. Search the library by title, key or tempo, drag clips into any DAW or app that takes audio, and export the chords as MIDI.

DOT records the Mac's own sound through the audio capture built into macOS, so there is no virtual driver (BlackHole, Loopback, Soundflower) or routing to set up. Record every app at once, or just one.

$49 once, for up to 3 of your own Macs, with free updates. Free to try: the first 10 recordings and 3 chord MIDI exports. Requires macOS 14.4 or later, Apple silicon or Intel.
