What is DIDA?

DIDA keeps every device in the house in hand, from light bulbs and door locks to the lawn mower, the amplifier and the weather station, and the house is controlled from its own floor plan.

Every protocol and integration runs in its own process behind a message bus, and every state is validated at the boundary, so a misbehaving device can only crash its own adapter: its entities go unavailable, the rest of the house carries on, and the adapter is started again. The core knows capabilities (on/off, brightness, temperature), never a protocol.

Automations do the everyday work, and the serious logic runs in a Starlark sandbox that cannot hang the core. Voice control comes in through a Matter bridge, the family through its own Android app with location, and a wall panel shows the floor plan. Every state change and every command is recorded.

Runs with Docker Compose. Source-available under PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0: free for personal use, not OSI open source. Demo: https://demo-dida.boskovic.biz
