What is DeskSentry?

DeskSentry is a Windows desktop automation application built around rules composed of triggers, conditions and actions. It can monitor a visible screen region for pixel changes, extract text with locally run OCR, and respond to timer, hotkey, file-system, clipboard, process, log-file, clock, window, Windows Event Log and deadline events. Conditions can test OCR text, time ranges, trigger data and bitmap matches.

Rules can launch programs, send webhooks and notifications, play sounds, send messages through services such as Slack, Discord and Microsoft Teams, send keystrokes, access databases, publish to RabbitMQ, alter the clipboard, and control system power actions. DeskSentry records rule activity in a local event log and can retain relevant screenshots. Its free edition has rule and feature limits; Pro and Teams licences unlock the full feature set for a major version.
