What is deCDN?

deCDN is a decentralized content delivery network built for large files: AI models, datasets, chain snapshots and other multi-gigabyte artifacts.

Instead of pulling from a single cloud bucket, clients fetch content from a network of independent nodes that cache and serve it. Every file is addressed by its BLAKE3 hash and verified chunk by chunk as it streams, so a download can draw from several nodes at once, resume after an interruption, and reject any corrupted or tampered data without trusting the node that sent it.

Key features:

  • Content addressing: request a file by its hash and get exactly those bytes, from whichever nodes have them
  • Verified streaming: BLAKE3 verification on every chunk, not just a checksum at the end
  • Multi-source, resumable downloads over QUIC (built on iroh), with NAT traversal and relay fallback
  • Encrypted transport between peers
  • Peer discovery through a Kademlia DHT
  • Pay-as-you-go: clients pay per MB delivered through off-chain USDC payment pools settled on Arbitrum, with no cloud account, subscription or egress contract
  • Run a node: operators contribute bandwidth and storage and are paid in USDC for the data they serve

deCDN is written in Rust and ships as a command-line client and node software for Linux, macOS, and Windows.
