What is dbSlice?

dbSlice is a Windows desktop application that transfers data between various database engines without disrupting the source system. It uses a command line interface to synchronize and migrate tables, views, or SELECT results from database engines such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, Firebird, SQLite, InterSystems IRIS, and Caché. The application reads the source in pages or keysets, eliminating the need for a long-running cursor or table lock. It requires read access on the source and write access on the target database.

dbSlice offers five synchronization modes, column mapping across different schemas, structure comparison, missing-row check, and data export to various formats. It also provides optional column masking, code generation helpers, and can be used for scheduled jobs and continuous integration.

The application requires a single license that supports all engines. The license is perpetual with optional yearly maintenance. Without a license, users can connect, browse data, compare structures, and export to CSV, but synchronization and migration require a license.
