What is DBCode?

DBCode is a full database client and IDE that runs inside VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and other VS Code-based editors. It connects to more than 90 SQL, NoSQL, cloud, warehouse, lakehouse, graph, vector, streaming, application, and file-based data sources, letting developers work with code and data without switching applications.

Browse databases, schemas, tables, and relationships; view and edit data in a grid; write SQL with schema-aware autocomplete, formatting, and inline results; or build queries visually. DBCode also includes interactive ER diagrams, SQL notebooks with SQL, Markdown, and Python, data exploration with charts and statistics, dataset comparison, execution plans, backup and restore, and built-in SSH tunnels.

GitHub Copilot integration turns natural-language requests into database actions, while the built-in MCP server makes database tools available to other AI clients. DBCode runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, with database connections and query execution handled locally.
